Wine and a Quarantine Getaway in Seabrook, Washington

Wine and a Quarantine Getaway in Seabrook, Washington

Living in the Pacific Northwest, it’s no surprise that we’re surrounded by breathtaking scenery. One such hidden gem is Seabrook, WA, a charming beach town just a few hours' drive from Seattle. I had never visited Seabrook before, but on my recent trip, I discovered a cozy, planned community with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. There are spacious homes perfect for families, a delightful coffee shop, several restaurants, a wine bar, and, of course, the beach. Plus, it’s just a short drive to Ocean Shores for even more adventures. If you’re looking for a weekend retreat that’s within easy driving distance, here’s a peek into what Seabrook has to offer.

Stop 1: Westport Winery

Absolutely worth the detour

On our way to Seabrook, our Airbnb hosts recommended a detour to Westport Winery—and I’m so glad we took their advice! Having lived in Washington my entire life, I had no idea this winery existed. What I discovered was more than just a tasting room—it’s a property that also features a restaurant, Mermaid Museum, and Distillery!

The tasting fee was only $5 for a flight of 6 wines, and it’s waived with a bottle purchase. What’s even better? Most of their wines are priced at $30 or less (see their whole list of available wines here)!

Between my mom and me, we took home 4 bottles from their list of wines, including:

  • Tsunami, Super Tuscan – $32

  • Jetty Cat, Cab Sauv/Syrah/Petite Sirah – $31

  • Going Coastal, Sparkling Gewürztraminer – $30

  • Fleur de Lis, Pinot Gris – $28

Stop 2: Arriving in Seabrook

And staying at the adorable Wade N’ Sea cottage

There are plenty of rental properties available in Seabrook, and each has its own unique charm. We stayed at a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home called Wade N’ Sea,” which sleeps 8. This house has everything you could need for a comfortable stay, including WiFi (perfect if you're combining work with vacation) and a fully stocked video collection—great for cozy movie nights with the family.

The house also features an outdoor fire pit and dining area. But my absolute favorite spot was the front porch, where I could enjoy my morning coffee or unwind with a glass of wine as I watched the long summer sunsets. I enjoyed two wines from Virtue Cellars (their Purity Cabernet Franc Blanc and Temperance Cabernet Franc) that are a local winery based just north of Seattle.

Stop 3: Exploring the Dining Options

First stop was Stowaway Wine Bar!

Any town with a wine bar immediately gets my attention, and Seabrook is no exception. After settling in, the first place we walked to was The Stowaway Wine Bar, which offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The best part? They offer a Premium Pour of the Day for just $20. During our visit, it happened to be a 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, a rare treat on any wine bar menu.

Masks were required except when seated, keeping everyone safe while enjoying their wine. It’s a small but important reminder to stay safe while traveling! ❤️

While you’re in Seabrook, don’t miss these local food and drink spots:

  • sweets & ice cream (I never turn down an opportunity for ice cream!)⠀⠀⠀

  • we picked up our pizza to-go, perfect for an outdoor at home dining dinner. They also have an outdoor attached!

  • Get the shaved coconut margarita. You won’t regret it.

  • Grab coffee from them in the AM!

Stop 4: Adventures & Enjoying Outdoor Activities

Golfing & the beach!

Seabrook offers plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors. About 25 minutes south of Seabrook is the Ocean Shores Golf Course, where my mom and I enjoyed an early tee time and 18 holes of golf. The round was $50 each, a reasonable price for a fun and scenic morning of golf.

Afterward, we packed up some wine and headed to the beach. We watched people fly kites, collect seashells (early risers can even find sand dollars!), and build sandcastles. We wrote our names in the sand, sipped on rosé from Fortuity Cellars and Virtue Cellars, and enjoyed the sunset over the horizon. It was the perfect way to end our day.

Seabrook was the perfect break from city life. It offered a relaxing blend of outdoor adventures, great wine, and cozy accommodations. I can’t wait to return in the future for another peaceful getaway.

Until next time, happy sipping!
